Bernard Berrian may not be a top ten wide receiver in the NFL but the 4th year pro out of Fresno State may be turning into a star before our very eyes. Going into what could have been the final play of the game in what could very well have been another Bear’s heartbreaking loss, Berrian put on his cape and and even though his 2 catches for 12 yards hovered over his head like a ball of Kryptonite he managed to somehow make the perfect catch. The best catch since the inception of the replay in an NFL game and it should go down as the best catch of all time….even better than Tony Sheffler’s miracle “I somehow trapped it between my legs!” touchdown which happened in the 3rd quarter. The fact that it happened at the most crucial time in the game, as the bears faced a 4 and 10 by which even the most loyal fan might have believed that another dropped pass was inevitable, and btw did I mention that a Bear’s loss would almost but eliminate them from the playoff hunt–all of that is secondary to the control and awareness which berrian displayed
